Meeting. My Life in Comedy

Colin says ‘I am retired comedy writer. I spent 35 years of my life working in the world of British television, stage and radio, and even, on odd occasions, for foreign broadcasters. I provided the words for a long and glittering succession of star comedy performers, and others who perhaps were not quite so glittering.

The stars I have written scrips for include Bob Monkhouse, David Jason, Rowan Atkinson, Anne Robinson, Russ Abbott, The Two Ronnies, Griff Rhys Jones, Pamela Stephenson and, not to be overlooked, Basil Brush.

I was one of the major contributors to Not the Nine O’clock News, and latterly spent ten years in a two-man writing partnership with the late and great Clive James composing the scripts for multiple series of the Clive James Show.’
